Marine environments are hostile to most light fixtures. The lights contend with corrosion, snow, torrential rain and winds, and extreme high/low-temperature.

Our Marine rated light fixtures can withstand strong winds, rough contact, and water. These light fixtures can withstand saltwater corrosion causing premature failure on sea docks.

Marine light fixtures have layered coatings making them more durable against saltwater corrosion. The parts of the light fixtures exposed to saltwater are dipped in hot zinc to galvanize them. Fixtures can also be anodized in an electrolytic acid solution that strengthens against rust. Anodizing is usually done to aluminum products.

Finally, all marine fixtures should be salt water tested for 5000 -10,000 hours. If the fixture hasn’t passed certification, its not a good choice for saltwater environments.
